Residential Services
Since 1972, GAAMHA has been providing services to people struggling with substance use issues and has guided thousands into lives of contented and sustainable recovery. With a suite of programs across many levels of care, coupled with a unique set of social supports under one roof, GAAMHA has created a “recovery ecosystem” that treats the whole person.

Pathway House is a highly structured residential treatment program that gives adult men an opportunity to address their substance use disorders and adopt a new and healthy lifestyle. New residents work with staff at intake to identify their personal goals and develop an individual treatment plan. A successful treatment plan will include a program of recovery, employment, healthy family and personal relationships, a solid support network, and strong connections to the community.

Situated on a 115-acre equestrian estate in Gardner, Massachusetts, our farm represents a departure from traditional approaches to substance use and other co-occurring disorders. While residents of our home are provided a first class education on established recovery support options, they also learn something most programs cannot offer… purpose. The other “residents” of our working farm include goats, pigs, chickens, horses and more. All these animals greet new residents with a message they may not have heard in some time… “I need YOU”. Animals and crops know nothing about stigma, cast no judgment, and have no interest in the past of an individual. They seek companionship and a symbiotic relationship with our residents that provides returns which cannot be measured.
“A great place to work. Amazing clients and workers that do their darndest to give them what they deserve.”
