Our History

GAAMHA, Inc. was established in 1967, to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities in the greater Gardner area. Pathway House, established in 1972, was developed to provide residential services for men with substance use disorders.

Several years later in 1985, GAAMHA Transit was launched to provide transportation services to the individuals served at the GAAMHA site. GAAMHA, Inc. and GAAMHA Transit merged in 1997, creating the transportation department. Finally, in 2000, we incorporated Coleman Assembly & Packaging, an innovative social business providing full-service assembly and packaging services.

Since 1987, our corporate headquarters have been located at 208 Coleman St., Gardner, MA. This 50,000+ sq. ft., multi-purpose facility is the home of our day program for individuals with disabilities, transportation, Coleman Assembly & Packaging, and our administrative offices.
